English club, West Ham United are reportedly close to securing a deal to sign Dutch-Ghanaian attacker Brian Brobbey.
As first reported by Africasoccer.com, Brobbey is among two forwards being targeted by the Hammers as they look to bolster their attacking options. Fresh updates suggest that talks between West Ham and Ajax have progressed significantly, with a deal now in its final stages.
The 22-year-old could become the first signing under newly appointed manager Graham Potter, who is expected to receive full backing in the transfer market. According to talkSPORT, negotiations between the Premier League club and Ajax took place on Thursday, bringing Brobbey closer to a move to England.
Brobbey, who previously had a stint with RB Leipzig, has long been linked with a switch to the Premier League. With West Ham pushing to reinforce their squad, the talented forward may finally get his long-anticipated opportunity to play in England.
The Hammers are expected to continue their recruitment drive throughout the January window and into the summer as they look to strengthen under Potter’s leadership.
