Amid reports linking him with a move to Inter Milan, Al-Nassr winger Sadio Mané has addressed speculation regarding his future, reaffirming his commitment to the Saudi Pro League side.
The two-time African Ballon d’Or winner made his stance clear following Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Khaleej on Tuesday, a match held as part of the league’s 16th round.
Mané brushed off the rumors with a composed response, emphasizing his focus on his current club. “Yes, I think it’s part of football, and as a player you have to accept that.
The rumours still exist, but I’m not a young player who lets it affect me anymore. I’m here and focused on my team,” he said.
Speaking further to Asharq Al-Awsat, the Senegalese international elaborated on his objectives: “I don’t mind. My goal is to stay with Al-Nassr and contribute to winning titles.”
These comments were made in light of reports suggesting that Inter Milan were preparing to launch a bid for Mané during the winter transfer window.
However, his statements appear to put an end to any immediate speculation, reaffirming his loyalty to Al-Nassr.
A Key Player in Saudi Arabia
Since his transfer to the Saudi Pro League, Sadio Mané has become a vital part of Al-Nassr’s setup.
With 27 goals and 17 assists in 71 matches, the 2022 African champion has solidified his reputation as one of the league’s standout players.
At 32, he continues to shine among a host of international stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who also dons Al-Nassr’s colors.
European Interest Persists
Despite his flourishing career in Saudi Arabia, Mané’s name remains prominent in European football circles.
Reports of interest from Inter Milan underscore the enduring appeal of the forward, who has long been regarded as one of the most dynamic players in world football.
The Italian side, led by Simone Inzaghi, reportedly sees Mané as an ideal candidate to bolster their attacking options.
However, unlike Ronaldo, whose contract with Al-Nassr concludes at the end of the season, Mané is under contract with the Saudi club until June 2026.
This long-term commitment further solidifies his current position.
For now, Sadio Mané’s focus remains firmly on Al-Nassr. With his sights set on adding more silverware to his collection, the Senegalese star continues to excel in the Saudi Pro League, leaving European interest in his wake.
