Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey has voiced his disappointment after the team dropped points against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Arsenal were hosted by the Seagulls at the AMEX Stadium, and young talent Ethan Nwaneri gave the Gunners a first-half lead with a well-taken strike.
However, Brighton earned a penalty, and Joao Pedro converted it to level the score at 1-1.
The result puts a dent in Arsenal’s title hopes, and Partey shared his frustration after the match, admitting that the team was feeling down.
“We are sad, frustrated, everybody is down but that’s part of football. We wanted to win, we wanted to keep the momentum going and at the end of the day, we didn’t get it,” the 30-year-old told the club website.
Despite the setback, Partey found a silver lining, noting that they at least avoided defeat.
“But it’s also a positive one because we did not lose. We have to try our best and win these games because they’re the most important ones, but it’s not an easy game against a good side and to win here you have to be perfect.
“We need to forget about today and keep on working hard to win our next game,” he added.
Arsenal will now shift their focus to their upcoming EFL Cup semifinal against Newcastle United on Tuesday.
