Richard Ofori’s heroics between the posts have earned him a spot in Sofascore’s South African Premier League Team of the Week.
The Ghanaian goalkeeper was instrumental in AmaZulu’s 1-0 victory over Cape Town City, a win that showcased his sharp reflexes and commanding presence.
AmaZulu secured the narrow triumph with a 19th-minute strike from Hendrick Ekstein, but it was Ofori’s stellar performance that preserved the lead. Ofori made five crucial saves, four of which were from inside the box, and confidently claimed two high balls to keep Cape Town City at bay.
The 30-year-old also demonstrated his composure in possession, completing 24 of his 28 attempted passes with an impressive 86% accuracy. His 45 touches reflected his active involvement in the game, contributing both defensively and in building attacks.
Currently 11th on the league table with 12 points, AmaZulu will hope to carry this momentum into their next match against Golden Arrows on January 4th, with Ofori once again expected to be a pivotal figure.
