The home-based Ghana national team, the Black Galaxies, touched down in Uyo, Nigeria, on Friday morning ahead of a high-stakes Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against the Super Eagles B.
The decisive clash, scheduled for Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 4 p.m. local time (16:00 GMT), will determine which team advances to the 2024 CHAN tournament.
Ghana’s contingent arrived at Victor Attah International Airport at 11 a.m. local time, exuding confidence as they prepare to face their West African rivals at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The first leg in Accra ended in a goalless draw, setting the stage for an intense showdown.
Black Galaxies head coach Mas Ud Didi Dramani is optimistic about his team’s chances, banking on their past successes over Nigeria in the 2009 and 2023 CHAN qualifiers.
A victory on Saturday would mark a third triumph and secure Ghana’s spot in the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in February 2025.
