German-born Ghanaian winger Justin Diehl has been sidelined, delivering a blow to VfB Stuttgart ahead of their Bundesliga clash against FC St. Pauli this Saturday.
The 20-year-old sustained a muscle injury during training on Wednesday, which will keep him out for an extended period.
“Unfortunately, Justin will be out for a bit longer,” head coach Sebastian Hoeneß revealed during a pre-match press conference. “He sustained a muscle injury in his back thigh during training yesterday.”
While the exact duration of Diehl’s absence remains uncertain, Hoeneß confirmed the winger won’t return until next year. “He will definitely be out next year, we can already say that,” he stated, marking a frustrating pause for the young talent.
Despite the setback, Hoeneß expressed optimism about Diehl’s recovery and future. “He will come back fine. The future belongs to him. Now we have to see that he becomes more stable,” the coach said, emphasizing the club’s faith in Diehl’s potential.
The injury temporarily halts Diehl’s promising development, but Stuttgart fans are hopeful for his triumphant return.
