Ivorian striker Patrick Ouotro is expected to return to RC Strasbourg Alsace this winter after a challenging loan spell at FC Martigues, according to sources from Maritima Médias.
The 19-year-old, who joined Strasbourg from LYS Sassandra in January 2024, was promoted to the club’s professional team in July, only to be sent out on loan shortly after to gain experience in Ligue 2.
Ouotro’s time at Martigues has not gone as planned, with the young center forward struggling to make a significant impact.
Over 13 appearances in Ligue 2 and one in the Coupe de France, he has managed to score just once in a total of 744 minutes of playing time.
This lack of form has raised concerns within Strasbourg, prompting the club to reconsider the loan arrangement and potentially bring him back earlier than expected.
The decision to cut the loan short reflects Strasbourg’s intent to further nurture Ouotro’s development.
While the club is keen to strengthen its attacking options, they also want to ensure that the young striker is playing in an environment that supports his growth.
As a result, a potential move to another club on loan is being explored to offer Ouotro more opportunities to play regularly and develop his skills in a more suitable setting.
Ouotro’s current market value is listed at €300,000 by Transfermarkt, and his future at Strasbourg will depend on his performances in the coming months.
Whether he returns to Strasbourg’s senior squad or embarks on another loan will be determined by his ability to thrive in a competitive environment.
