Gabon midfielder Guélor Kanga set to sign one-year contract extension with Red Star Belgrade

Gabonese international Guélor Kanga is reportedly set to renew his contract with Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, ensuring his continued contribution to the club’s midfield.

Kanga, who has been a pivotal figure for Red Star, is expected to sign a one-year extension. His current contract was set to expire in June 2025, and recent reports indicate the 34-year-old is not seeking a new challenge elsewhere at this time.

The veteran midfielder had a slow start to the season, initially falling out of favour with head coach Vladan Milojević. However, a resurgence in form has seen Kanga reclaim his place in the squad, prompting the club to reward his efforts with an extension.

This season, Kanga has made 16 appearances across all competitions, registering six assists, and demonstrating his enduring value on the pitch. The Oyem-born star, valued at €900,000 by Transfermarkt, remains an influential presence in Red Star’s title ambitions.

Red Star Belgrade is preparing for their upcoming Serbian SuperLiga match against Novi Pazar, where Kanga will likely play a key role as the team looks to maintain its strong form in the league.
