Angola Triumphs in opening match of 2025 U17 AFCON qualifiers – COSAFA Zone

The 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for the COSAFA Zone kicked off on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, with two exciting fixtures.

Angola secured a 2-1 victory over Lesotho in the opening match, while Mozambique and Malawi played to a 1-1 draw.

At the UJ AW Muller Stadium, Angola’s young squad dominated Lesotho, with Eliseu Francisco and Dansel Morais finding the back of the net.

Lesotho’s lone scorer, Rethabile Nquoko, was unable to prevent his team from suffering a narrow defeat.

In the second match, Mozambique faced Malawi in a closely contested game.
