Vejle Boldklub has announced the mutual termination of Ghanaian midfielder Ebenezer Ofori’s contract, which was initially set to run until the summer of 2025. The decision comes after a period of limited playing time for the 28-year-old, who had joined the Danish club in 2022.
The club’s sporting director, Marius Adrian Nicolae, outlined the reasoning behind the decision in a statement on the club’s official website, noting that Ofori had not been a regular starter for some time.
He further explained that with the winter transfer window approaching and the player’s contract set to expire without extension, parting ways was seen as the best course of action.
Ebenezer Ofori had been far from regular playing time for a long time.
As we look forward to the winter window and the upcoming expiry of his contract, it felt timely to part ways,” Nicolae stated.
We thank him for his professional and loyal effort over nearly three years at the club.
Despite his recent struggles for game time, Ofori’s contributions, particularly in the 2022–23 season, were significant.
He played a crucial role in helping Vejle earn promotion to the 3F Superliga, a milestone the club will not forget.
Nicolae added, “He has always been a stable and unifying presence in the dressing room, and we will remember him fondly.
During his tenure at Vejle, Ofori made 69 appearances across all competitions.
His influence, especially in past campaigns, has left a lasting impression on the club and its supporters.
Internationally, Ofori has earned nine caps for Ghana, scoring once for the Black Stars.
As he prepares for the next chapter in his career, the midfielder aims to rediscover the form that made him a notable figure in European football.
