Mohamed Salah has reportedly opened the door to a potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) next summer, with the Liverpool star in discussions with the French champions about a possible free move.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Salah has initiated talks with PSG, signalling his willingness to consider a move to the Parc des Princes in 2024.
The Parisian club, in search of a replacement for Kylian Mbappé, are keen to bolster their attacking options following the French forward’s departure to Real Madrid earlier this summer.
PSG, who have been active in the transfer market this year, had previously tried to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli but were unsuccessful in their attempts.
Despite their efforts, the Ligue 1 side is still on the lookout for a quality winger, and Salah’s name has been on their radar for some time.
The arrival of the Egyptian forward could represent PSG’s most viable opportunity to secure a top-tier winger in the near future.
Salah, who has been a key figure for Liverpool since joining in 2017, currently has one year remaining on his contract.
However, with no sign of an extension before the start of 2024, he will enter the final six months of his deal, making him eligible to enter pre-contract negotiations with other clubs in January.
The situation places PSG in a favourable position should they wish to pursue Salah next summer.
Should the transfer go ahead, it would be a significant coup for PSG as they look to replace Mbappé’s presence in their attacking lineup.
While a move to PSG has been widely speculated in recent months, it remains to be seen whether the transfer will materialise in 2024.
