Kelechi Iheanacho’s future at Sevilla is uncertain, with the club reportedly exploring the possibility of offloading the Nigerian striker in January. Since joining the La Liga side on a free transfer from Leicester City in July, Iheanacho has struggled to make an impact, failing to score in seven league matches. His only two goals came against lower-tier Las Rozas in a Copa del Rey fixture.
Sevilla, currently one of La Liga’s lowest-scoring teams, have been linked with alternative attacking options, including Gremio’s Martin Braithwaite.
However, Sevilla’s Sporting Director, Victor Orta, dismissed speculation about Braithwaite, stating simply, “no” when asked by Estadio Deportivo.
Reports suggest Orta has lost confidence in Iheanacho and is working to secure a loan move back to the English Championship, where the striker scored just five goals in 23 appearances last season as Leicester claimed the title.
Iheanacho’s underwhelming form has added to Sevilla’s offensive struggles, raising questions about whether a change of scenery could help the 28-year-old rediscover his form.
