At just 19 years old, Anas Haj Mohamed, the promising attacking midfielder from Parma, is quickly gaining attention as one of Tunisia’s most exciting prospects. His blend of talent and determination has made him a key player to watch in the coming years, with many predicting a bright future for the youngster on both the domestic and international football stages.

Born in Italy, Haj Mohamed was initially part of the Italian national setup, representing the Azzurri at youth levels up to the U17s.

However, despite his Italian roots, the young midfielder ultimately chose to play for Tunisia, his parents’ homeland. His decision to represent the Carthage Eagles over Morocco, where he also holds heritage, has sparked considerable interest.

Haj Mohamed was briefly called up by the Morocco U20 team, but it was Tunisia that captured his heart.

In an interview with the Tunisian Football Federation’s official website, Haj Mohamed explained the motivations behind his choice.

“My connection to Tunisia runs deep,” he said. “It was a personal decision, one that felt right in my heart. I want to contribute to the growth of Tunisian football and be part of something special.”

An Insight into His Qualities

Former Tunisian national team coach, Montassar Louhichi, has praised Haj Mohamed’s potential, shedding light on the midfielder’s playing style and work ethic.

“He’s a player with exceptional vision and creativity,” Louhichi commented. “His ability to control the game, combined with his knack for delivering key passes, makes him a real asset. Anas is the kind of player who can make a difference.”

Since joining Parma in the summer of 2021, Haj Mohamed has steadily made his mark. He had an impressive run in the Primavera league, playing 72 matches and scoring 29 goals, highlighting his attacking prowess.

In October 2023, he signed his first professional contract with Parma, committing to the club until the summer of 2026.

This season, Haj Mohamed has continued to impress in Serie A, registering two assists in his four appearances.

His performances for the Italian side have showcased his maturity, and his consistent contribution has made him a vital part of the team.

The Future Ahead

As Tunisia looks ahead to future competitions, including the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Haj Mohamed is expected to play a key role in their midfield.

With his technical ability and understanding of the game, the young star could soon become one of the leaders of the Tunisian national team.

For now, Haj Mohamed remains focused on his development at Parma, but his decision to represent Tunisia ensures that his journey will be one followed closely by fans across the nation.

As he continues to rise, the future looks incredibly bright for the talented midfielder.
