Nouhoum Kamissoko joins La Berrichonne de Châteauroux on loan
La Berrichonne de Châteauroux has confirmed the loan signing of Nouhoum Kamissoko from Olympique de Marseille. The 19-year-old Malian defensive midfielder will spend the rest of the season with the French third-tier side as he seeks to gain valuable first-team experience.
Kamissoko, who joined Marseille in July 2023 from Etoiles du Mandé in Mali, has primarily featured for OM’s B team since his arrival.
Châteauroux announced the loan deal through an official statement on its website and social media platforms, revealing that the Bamako-born midfielder will wear the number 4 jersey during his spell at the club.
A Chance to Shine in the National League
Kamissoko has shown potential but has had limited opportunities to impress at Marseille. This season, he has made four appearances in the National 3, the fifth tier of French football, accumulating 234 minutes on the pitch.
The loan to Châteauroux, who compete in the National League (France’s third division), represents a step up and a chance for Kamissoko to test himself against stronger competition.
The young midfielder’s contract with Marseille runs until June 30, 2027, reflecting the club’s belief in his long-term potential.
However, the loan arrangement indicates a desire for the player to develop further by gaining regular game time at a competitive level.
Châteauroux’s Expectations
Châteauroux, known for nurturing young talent, will be hoping Kamissoko can make an immediate impact.
The club has a history of providing a platform for promising players to refine their skills and advance their careers.
Kamissoko’s physicality and defensive capabilities could add much-needed depth to their midfield as they navigate the challenges of the National League season.
The move is a significant step in Kamissoko’s career, offering him the opportunity to grow and demonstrate the qualities that earned him a place at one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
Both Châteauroux and Marseille will undoubtedly keep a close eye on his progress, as the loan deal could prove to be a pivotal moment in his development as a professional footballer.
Kamissoko’s journey from Mali to France now continues with the expectation that he will make the most of his time at Châteauroux and return to Marseille ready to compete for a spot in their senior squad.
