Ghana head coach Otto Addo has unveiled his vision to establish a disciplined and cohesive national football team during a meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council on November 27, 2024.
In the meeting, described by the GFA as “open and candid,” Addo presented a 56-page technical report analyzing Ghana’s failure to qualify for AFCON 2025.
The report highlighted areas requiring improvement and detailed his approach to fostering discipline, accountability, and trust among players and staff while creating a clear playing philosophy.
He indicated that he intends to build a strong and cohesive system,” the GFA’s statement read, emphasizing Addo’s focus on restoring stability and identity within the Black Stars.
Reactions within the Executive Council were mixed.
Some members argued for the coach’s dismissal, citing the team’s recent shortcomings, while others favored granting him more time to execute his plans.
The GFA has pledged to work closely with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive strategy to revive Ghana’s footballing fortunes.
The decision on Addo’s future is expected to be a key component of this process.
