Ernest Nuamah provided an assist in Olympique Lyonnais’ impressive 4-1 win over Qarabag FK in the UEFA Europa League Round 5 match on Thursday evening.
The Ghanaian winger started the match and made an impactful 46-minute appearance before being substituted.
Lyon opened the scoring in the 15th minute, with Nuamah supplying a pinpoint cross to Georges Mikautadze, who finished calmly to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. The game progressed with Lyon in control, as Mikautadze added a second in the 80th minute, and Malick Fofana scored from close range in the 68th minute. Corentin Tolisso also found the net with a stunning long-range effort in the 63rd minute.
Qarabag’s lone consolation goal came late when Lyon’s goalkeeper, Lucas Perri, scored an own goal in the 88th minute.
Lyon’s commanding performance ensures they remain in contention for the knockout stages, with their focus now turning to a domestic clash against Nice on December 1st.
