Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has successfully undergone surgery to address the injury he sustained last week while playing for the Black Stars in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The Leicester City winger was injured during Ghana’s crucial encounter against Angola last Thursday. As a result, he was ruled out of Ghana’s final Group F match against Niger and had to travel to England for further assessment.
A statement from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the Angola match explained, “Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku sustained injuries during the Angola match. Although Ayew completed the game, MRI scans in Accra revealed significant issues with his knee. Issahaku was substituted in the first half due to his injury.”
Today, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku confirmed that his surgery was successful.
In an Instagram post, the talented forward expressed his gratitude, saying, “All glory be to Almighty Allah. My surgery was successful, and I just want to tell you that I am okay. I want to thank everyone for your best wishes.”
