Derna to host African mini-football cup in 2025 as Libya prepares for major sporting event
Derna, Libya, is set to host the 2025 African Mini-Football Cup, scheduled for April next year. The tournament will see 16 teams from across the continent compete in the popular sport, marking a significant moment for the city and the nation as they gear up for one of the region’s most anticipated sporting events.
The African Mini-Football Confederation confirmed on its official Facebook page that teams from Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Chad, Somalia, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Zambia, and South Africa have all agreed to participate in the tournament.
The final list of participating teams will be officially approved by the Confederation before the tournament draw, which is set to take place in Derna this December.
