Patrick Vieira, the head coach of Strasbourg, has called up Moroccan Olympic team goalkeepers Alaa Bellarouch and Walid Hassbi for a closed training camp in Austria, in preparation for the upcoming football season.
Both goalkeepers were strong candidates to join the Moroccan Olympic team, having participated in recent training camps.
Bellarouch, considered the primary goalkeeper for the Olympic squad, was sidelined due to an injury, missing the last two friendly matches against Belgium and Liberia, despite being present at the camp.
Vieira’s decision to include Bellarouch and Hassbi in Strasbourg’s preseason preparations highlights the club’s commitment to integrating young talent into their squad.
Bellarouch, despite his recent injury setback, remains a key player for both club and country.
He is expected to continue his rehabilitation during the Austrian camp, which features a roster of 33 players.
