Mohamed Lamine Yattara, the prolific Guinean striker, has concluded his tenure with Ararat-Armenia and is now being linked with a potential move to Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Colorado Rapids. This development comes as Yattara, affectionately known as “Élo,” seeks new challenges following the end of his contract with the Armenian club.
The 30-year-old international striker enjoyed a standout season at Ararat-Armenia, making a significant impact on the field. During his time with the club, Yattara featured in 28 league matches, netting 18 goals and providing four assists.
His contributions were instrumental in Ararat-Armenia’s successful campaign, which culminated in winning the Armenian National Cup.
This remarkable season marked the most prolific of his career, surpassing his previous best of 11 goals in a single season during his stint with Angers in Ligue 1 during the 2013/14 season.
With his contract now concluded, both Yattara and Ararat-Armenia mutually agreed not to extend their partnership.
As he looks to explore new opportunities, Yattara has been proposed to the Colorado Rapids, according to reports from Africafoot.
The MLS club is reportedly in search of an experienced center forward to bolster their attacking options.
Reflecting on his time with Ararat-Armenia, Yattara expressed his gratitude and fondness for the club and its supporters.
In a heartfelt message posted on his Instagram account, he stated:
“Incredibly grateful to the Ararat family and fans for an incredible season. Thank you for making me feel welcomed as one of your own.
I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and my club. A bittersweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you. I wish you all the best at FC Ararat-Armenia.”
The potential move to Colorado Rapids presents an exciting opportunity for Yattara to bring his goal-scoring prowess to the MLS.
The Rapids, known for their competitive spirit, could benefit greatly from Yattara’s experience and proven track record.
As the summer transfer window unfolds, all eyes will be on whether this proposed move materializes, offering Yattara a new stage to continue his footballing journey.
