Nancy has secured the services of Joël Sami for another two seasons. The Franco-Congolese defender, whose contract was set to expire, has extended his contract with the Ligue 2 club until June 2016. Sami has been with Nancy since the summer of 2009, after spending four seasons with Amiens.
Despite having offers to move abroad, Sami chose to stay with Nancy, citing his comfort and happiness with the club and his family’s well-being. He believes Nancy is a major French club that will soon return to Ligue 1.
In a statement on the club’s website, Sami expressed his commitment to Nancy’s sporting project, highlighting the potential of the young players in the team. He aims to contribute his experience to help the team achieve promotion to Ligue 1, either this season or the next.
