Zoumana Keita, a 19-year-old German-Malian talent, has reaffirmed his commitment to Viktoria Köln, signing an early contract extension.
Keita, who began his journey with the club at just eight years old, embodies the Viktoria DNA, making his decision a celebrated moment for the club.
“For his young age, Zoumana is a physically robust and intelligent player who has the Viktoria DNA in his blood,” said sports director Stephan Küsters. “We are incredibly happy that Zoumana has decided to continue on the path with his youth club.”
Keita’s journey is intertwined with Viktoria’s history. After a three-year stint with FC Köln, he returned to Schäl Sick, remaining loyal to his roots. His U9 coach, Marian Wilhelm, now an assistant coach for the professionals, continues to guide him.
“The decision wasn’t difficult for me,” Keita shared. “The contract extension shows me that those responsible have trust in me and are convinced of me. I’m very proud that I can continue my development here.”
Keita’s first-team debut on December 1st against Wiesbaden marked a milestone in his career, earning praise for his composure under pressure.
