Former France international of Malian descent, Zoumana Camara, has officially started work as head coach of French Ligue 1 side Montpellier HSC.
The club announced giving the job to Camara on Tuesday, after mutually parting ways with coach Jean-Louis Gasset on Monday.
“Zoumana Camara new coach of MHSC..After a rich playing career, the 46-year-old technician will have his first experience as head coach of a professional men’s team in Montpellier.
“An early arrival at the end of the championship, but with the goal of preparing for the future as best as possible. Welcome, coach,” an official club statement from Montpellier HSC said on Tuesday.
Immediately after his unveiling, coach Zoumana Camara took charge of his first training session with his players.

Zoumana Camara, former player who played as central defender enjoyed a rich career. He played for prestigious clubs such as AS Saint-Etienne, Inter Milan, OM, Leeds, RC Lens and Paris Saint-Germain.
In his journey towards landing the role as head coach of Montpellier HSC, Camara worked with Parisian U19s for 3 seasons (2021-2024).
Until recently, he was a TV consultant and has now fully taken on the head coach role at Montpellier HSC.
