Ahmed Mostafa Zizo is making headlines again, this time over a financial problems with his club, Zamalek.
After contract renewal talks fell apart, Zizo is set to leave at the end of the season, with a possible move to rivals Al Ahly already in motion. Zamalek, meanwhile, has launched an investigation into his recent media statements against the club.
But the real shock came from a club source who challenged Zizo’s demand for EGP 73 million, calling it “unjustified.” According to club insider speaking to Kooora, Zizo’s total deal was worth EGP 84 million before taxes, spread across three seasons. Once deductions were made, his actual earnings were far less EGP 15 million in the first year, followed by EGP 20 million for each of the next two.
The club insider accused Zizo and his father of creating confusion over a bonus clause they claim guarantees more money.
The club insists that Zizo is only owed EGP 9 million before standard deductions, including penalties for missing training.
