Zambian international central defender, Stoppila Sunzu, has officially joined the ranks of Cangzhou Mighty Lions, a formidable Chinese football club. The announcement, made by the Chinese team through its official channels, solidifies the experienced defender’s commitment to his new venture.

Stoppila Sunzu, now 34, brings a wealth of experience and prowess to Cangzhou Mighty Lions’ defensive lineup.

The Zambian international, who clinched the African championship with Chipolopolo in 2012, has left an indelible mark during his stints with notable clubs like Lille, Metz, and TP Mazembé.

The signing comes on the heels of Sunzu’s departure from JN Xingzhou, a change prompted by the administrative demotion of the club to the amateur division.

Eager to continue contributing at a high level, Sunzu embarks on this new journey with the Chinese club, signing a lease that extends until December 26, 2024.

Known for his commanding presence on the field, Sunzu is anticipated to play a pivotal role in fortifying the defensive capabilities of Cangzhou Mighty Lions.

His seasoned career, coupled with his international experience, positions him as a valuable asset for the team.

As the Chinese Super League progresses, football enthusiasts are eager to witness how Stoppila Sunzu’s skills and leadership will influence the fortunes of Cangzhou Mighty Lions.

The signing not only underscores the global appeal of Chinese football but also signals a new chapter in Sunzu’s enduring and distinguished career.
