Moses Sichone released a 55-man provisional squad for Zambia ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, fulfilling CAF’s requirement for an extended list ahead of the tournament scheduled from 21 December to 18 January.
Sichone included Manchester City defender Jadel Katongo in the group, as well as Jack Kalichi Lahne, who won over supporters with his strong performances during the recent FIFA window.
Lahne scored his first goal for the Chipolopolo during that period and continued to build momentum.
The Football Association of Zambia intensified its efforts to identify and incorporate talent from the diaspora. Sichone responded by adding several players who emerged from overseas pathways, while also integrating young prospects from the U17 World Cup programme.
Jonathan Kalimina, Abel Nyirongo and Christo Chitambala all received places as part of the federation’s long-term development plan.
Zambia will compete in Group A with hosts Morocco, Mali and Comoros.
