Zambia announce strong squad ahead of Copper Queens friendlies against Cuiabá and Brazil

Zambia’s women’s national team has unveiled a 25-member squad for their upcoming FIFA Series friendlies in Brazil, where they will face Cuiabá and the hosts in matches scheduled from April 9 to 18.

The squad, announced by the technical team, reflects a blend of experience and emerging talent, with several players earning call-ups based on strong performances at club level both locally and abroad.

Captain Barbra Banda headlines the list, bringing her leadership and goal-scoring prowess to the frontline. She is joined in attack by Priscah Chilufya, Mercy Chipasula, Mary Mambwe, Ngosa Chabwe, and Agness Phiri, forming a versatile and dynamic forward line.

In midfield, Zambia will rely on the creativity and composure of Grace Chanda, alongside Esther Muchinga, Rhoda Chileshe, Ireen Lungu, Maweta Chilenga, and Natasha Nanyangwe, all expected to play key roles in linking defense and attack.

The defensive unit includes experienced names such as Margaret Belemu, Margaret Gondwe, Blessings Maluba, Memory Nthala, Agness Musesa, Saliya Mwanza, Martha Tembo, Lushomo Mweemba, and Rachael Nachula, offering depth and stability at the back.

Between the posts, the team will be guarded by Hazel Nali, Chishala Mufunte, and Catherine Musonda, all vying for the number one spot.
