Zamalek’s planning committee member Amr El Ganainy has launched a scathing attack on former star Ahmed Mostafa Zizo following the winger’s controversial switch to rivals Al Ahly.
The transfer, which has shaken Egypt’s football scene, did not sit well with El Ganainy, who made his feelings clear during a TV appearance on Saturday. Without holding back, he questioned Zizo’s integrity and criticized the manner of his exit.
“It is a great honour for anyone to pass through the gates of Zamalek. We support the club and not the players, the entity is the only thing that remains. Whoever wants to stay, welcome and easy, and whoever wants to leave, may God take care of him,” El Ganainy said.
He went on to challenge Zizo’s conduct without naming him directly.
“I refuse to talk about a player as a liar, because no man is a liar. Anyone has the right to look for their future, but they shouldn’t be a liar, greedy or a crook, there aren’t many crooks,” he added.
