Zamalek SC players voice concerns over unpaid wages ahead of Al-Masry clash

Zamalek has decided to escalate matters after recent media coverage triggered tensions with its rival, Al Ahly.

The club will submit an official and strong complaint to Egypt’s Supreme Council for Media Regulation and National Press Authority regarding content published by Al Ahly’s magazine. The disputed image referenced clashes during the last Egyptian Super Cup and, according to Zamalek, stokes fan unrest and contradicts efforts to maintain peace between supporters.

A club official stated, “We will not remain silent about actions that threaten the stability of the entire sporting system. This behavior disregards the importance of avoiding strife between Zamalek and Al Ahly fans.” Zamalek’s board urges authorities to hold those responsible accountable for decisions related to the controversial publication.

Off the pitch, coach Yannick Ferrera announced Zamalek’s lineup for today’s pivotal clash against National Bank in the Egyptian Premier League.

The squad reflects a balance between defense and attack, with players like Mahmoud Ben Tayek, Nabil Emad Dunga, and Benza ready to deliver. Ferrera hopes these efforts, bolstered by recently settled player dues, will lift the team’s spirits and help secure a vital victory as Zamalek pushes to regain momentum in the league.
