Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Hamdy remains frozen out of the squad for the upcoming league match against Zed, with a club source confirming that his exclusion continues as part of an internal disciplinary decision.
The source told Kooora that Hamdi has been absent from group training in recent days in line with a sanction imposed by sporting director John Edward, following a verbal altercation between the player and former head coach Ahmed Abdel Raouf during a training session.
Despite Abdel Raouf’s departure and the appointment of Moatamed Gamal as interim coach, the punishment has not been lifted, and Hamdy is still outside the first-team plans.
Gamal, for his part, is looking to use the Zed clash as a serious test of his squad, hoping a positive result can restore some stability and confidence within the White Castle after a turbulent period.
Meanwhile, strong indications suggest Hamdi is edging closer to a winter exit from Zamalek, with his ongoing absence from both training and matchday squads reinforcing expectations that he could leave the club during the current transfer window.
