Zamalek has moved to shield its loyal supporters after recent insults aimed at their image, filing official complaints with the Public Prosecutor.
The club’s board stressed that its fans are a vital part of its identity and must be defended against attacks.
On Thursday, the board voiced its categorical rejection of “any attempts to harm the club’s fans or distort their image,” adding that it would not hesitate to “defend their rights against any abuse.”
In its statement, Zamalek affirmed it “will not stand idly by in the face of the systematic campaigns targeting Zamalek fans,” praising their reputation as “always setting an example of commitment, discipline, and awareness, both on and off the pitch.”
The club confirmed it had submitted reports to Counselor Mohamed Shawky, the Attorney General, against individuals including (M. S.) and (T. A.), as well as owners of certain publications and videos. These materials allegedly insulted fans, spread falsehoods, and stirred unrest.
The council urged legal action, stating those responsible had committed crimes by using social media to incite strife and attack the club’s community.
