Zamalek is poised to earn a financial boost thanks to a recent transfer deal involving their former youth talent, Yassin Marei.
The defender, who came through Zamalek’s ranks before moving to Pharco, has now sealed a switch to Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Pharco announced Marei’s departure during the ongoing summer transfer window, expressing gratitude for his contribution to the club. Al Ahly has acquired the left-footed defender to strengthen their backline for the upcoming season.
A source within Zamalek revealed to Kooora that the club is entitled to a cut of the deal. “Zamalek will receive 15% of the proceeds from Yassin Marei’s resale, according to the terms of the contract with Pharco,” the source said.
Marei, who first joined Pharco on loan in 2021 before making the move permanent, featured in 59 league matches, scoring twice and assisting once. He also made three appearances in the Egypt Cup.
With Al Ahly’s latest move, Zamalek quietly celebrates a well-negotiated clause now paying off.
