Official dates revealed: CAF sets Champions League and Confederation Cup finals
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the dates for the finals of its two major interclub competitions for the 2025–2026 season.
CAF confirms schedule for continental finals
Africa’s governing football body has officially outlined the timetable for both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup finals, bringing clarity to the closing stages of the continental club campaign.
According to the announcement, both competitions will conclude with two-legged finals, maintaining the format traditionally used in recent seasons.
The decision confirms that the winners of each tournament will be determined over home-and-away fixtures, rather than a single final match.
Champions League final set for May
CAF has scheduled the African Champions League final across two dates in May 2026.
The first leg of the final will take place on 15 May 2026, with the return leg set for 24 May 2026.
These fixtures will determine the continent’s top club side for the season, with the aggregate score across the two matches deciding the eventual winner.
The announcement provides clubs and supporters with a clear timeline as teams continue their مسیر towards the final.
Confederation Cup final to precede Champions League
The CAF Confederation Cup final will be played earlier in the month, also over two legs.
The first leg is scheduled for 9 May 2026, with the second leg to follow on 16 May 2026.
As with the Champions League, the outcome will be decided over the two matches, with each team hosting one leg of the final.
The scheduling ensures that the Confederation Cup reaches its conclusion before the Champions League final begins.
Clarity for clubs and supporters
The confirmation of dates marks an important step in the organisation of CAF’s interclub competitions, allowing participating teams to plan for the decisive مرحلة of the season.
With both finals set to be played across two legs, clubs will need to manage home and away performances carefully to secure continental success.
The announcement also offers supporters a clear view of the calendar, as anticipation builds towards the climax of African club football.
Focus shifts to the road to the finals
Attention will now turn to the remaining fixtures leading up to these showpiece events, as clubs compete for a place in the finals.
With the dates now confirmed, the مسیر to continental titles becomes more defined, setting the stage for the final phase of the 2025–2026 campaign.
