The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association took many by surprise early Thursday by announcing the final stage fixtures, setting up a blockbuster battle between Zamalek and Al Ahly. With just a few days separating the matches, Zamalek is pushing for the same rest period as their rivals to level the playing field.
After 17 rounds, Pyramids lead the league table with 42 points, while Al Ahly sits second with 39. Zamalek, currently in third with 32 points, aims to close the gap in the upcoming decisive stage.
The club now awaits a response to its request, as the scheduling decision could impact their preparation and performance in both the domestic cup and league title race.
