Zamalek President Hussein Labib welcomes Housing Minister’s support in October land dispute
Zamalek president Hussein Labib expressed gratitude to Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny after a crucial meeting over the land crisis surrounding the club’s 6th of October City branch.
Labib said the minister’s words offered reassurance at a time when the club and its supporters needed clarity.
In its official statement, Zamalek confirmed that a delegation led by Labib and the club’s legal advisor met with El-Sherbiny, alongside ministry and New Urban Communities Authority officials, to discuss the future of the project.
El-Sherbiny stressed that the state fully supports Zamalek, its fans, and members of its general assembly. He firmly denied rumors that a new developer had taken over the land, underlining that the government stands by the club.
The talks also covered Zamalek’s grievance and the possibility of resuming work at the October branch. The minister promised to draft an urgent memorandum for Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
El-Sherbiny also noted the ministry’s readiness to allocate an extra plot of land in the Fifth Settlement once the seriousness of Zamalek’s ongoing work is proven.
