Zamalek’s legal battle over Ahmed Mostafa Zizo took another unexpected turn as club officials failed to attend a critical hearing with the Egyptian Football Association’s Player Affairs Department.
The session was meant to address Zamalek’s formal complaint against their former winger, who joined rivals Al Ahly for free after contract renewal talks collapsed last season.
The absence came after the Disciplinary Committee, in early June, declared it had no authority over the matter, prompting Zamalek to escalate the case to the Player Affairs Committee. However, sources confirmed that no Zamalek representative showed up for the new hearing.
A source inside the club told Kooora that they were unaware of the session’s scheduled date, offering a surprising explanation for the no-show.
Zamalek had initially lodged the complaint on May 1, claiming Zizo had been absent from training since April 8, 2025. The club insisted his departure caused direct damage during a pivotal point in the season.
With Zizo now officially an Al Ahly player, the missed hearing raises fresh uncertainty over Zamalek’s chances of getting any formal resolution.
