Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Rabie waits on medical test for El Gouna clash
Ahmed Rabie’s return to Zamalek action will depend on the outcome of a crucial medical test before the club’s Egyptian Premier League match against El Gouna on Tuesday.
The midfielder has been working his way back from an adductor muscle injury that kept him out of recent games. His presence in training this week has given the squad a lift, but his readiness for full competition is still uncertain.
“Rabie participated in part of the group training yesterday for 25 minutes, and then completed his rehabilitation program,” a source told Kooora.
“Rabie has recovered from the injury he sustained recently to his adductor muscle, but there are concerns about his direct participation in matches. Therefore, he will undergo a medical examination tomorrow, Sunday, and the results will determine whether he will fully participate in training or not.”
Zamalek are heading into the El Gouna match on the back of a 2-0 victory over Ismaily on Thursday. Rabie, 24, missed that game as he continued his recovery.
