Zamalek leave Adam Kaied out against Abu Qir Fertilizers for technical reasons

Adam Kaied has been left out of Zamalek’s squad for the first time this season, with the club source telling FilGoal.com that the midfielder was excluded from their match against Abu Qir Fertilizers for technical reasons.

Zamalek host Abu Qir Fertilizers at Cairo International Stadium at 20:00 local time, with the decision to omit Kaied made by the technical staff led by manager Moataz Gamal.

A source from Zamalek told FilGoal.com: “Adam Kaied was excluded from Zamalek’s squad for the match against Abu Qir Fertilizers for technical reasons, according to the view of the technical staff led by Moataz Gamal.”

Kaied had been included in Zamalek’s squads earlier in the campaign, but this will be the first match of the season he has missed. The midfielder has made four appearances for the club this season, including three in the Egyptian Premier League.

He has not scored or provided an assist for Zamalek this term.

Last season, Kaied played 31 matches for the Cairo club, scoring once and registering one assist.

For the game against Abu Qir Fertilizers, Moataz Gamal has selected Chico Banza, Hossam Ashraf and Oday El Dabbah to lead the attack.

There is also a change in goal, with Mehdi Soliman returning to the starting line-up. Mohamed Awad has been named among the substitutes.

Zamalek arrive at the match on the back of a 2-1 victory in the previous round. The source article refers to both Montakhab El-Suez and Petrojet in connection with that result.

The result left Zamalek third in the table with seven points from two wins and one draw. Abu Qir Fertilizers are 15th with three points.

Kaied’s omission is therefore one of the main talking points before Zamalek’s home fixture, particularly given that he had been available for every match until now. However, the explanation provided by the club source does not indicate an injury or disciplinary issue, instead attributing the decision solely to the coaching staff’s technical assessment.

Zamalek will be aiming to strengthen their position near the top of the Egyptian Premier League when they face an Abu Qir Fertilizers side currently occupying the lower reaches of the standings. The visitors will be looking to improve on their three-point start, while Zamalek seek to build on their recent 2-1 success.
