Zamalek SC has opened an official investigation into midfielder Ahmed Hamdi following what the club described as behavior that goes against its values.
The decision, made by the Board of Directors, comes just hours after Hamdi shared posts on social media that raised eyebrows among fans and officials alike.
In a statement published on its website, Zamalek confirmed that Hamdi would face disciplinary measures pending the outcome of the investigation. The findings will be submitted to the board for a final ruling on his future with the club.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to discipline and respect, stating that all players are expected to uphold Zamalek’s standards, and that no form of misconduct would be tolerated.
Hamdi, currently in Germany with team doctor Mohamed Osama for a post-injury medical follow-up, posted two messages online. One read, “May God and yes, the agent,” and the other appeared to mock financial matters related to his account.
These messages, posted during a club-sponsored treatment trip, have fueled speculation about a growing rift between the player and Zamalek.
