Zamalek SC is facing more trouble as a fresh complaint from former striker Khalid Boutaib puts the club under pressure once again.
The Moroccan forward has filed a new claim demanding the final part of his €2.5 million settlement, plus added fines for late payment.
According to a source close to the Giza club, Zamalek had agreed with Bou Taieb on July 4, 2024, to settle the amount in two parts. The club has already paid more than €1.5 million, but €983,000 remains outstanding. That final payment was due by January 2025.
Now, Khalid Boutaib has taken the matter further, submitting a warning through FIFA to demand the remaining amount along with penalties.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport had already ruled in Khalid Boutaib’s favour, and FIFA has acted swiftly, placing a suspension on Zamalek’s player registrations until the debt is cleared.
The development adds another layer of tension for the Royal Club, who now risk missing out on new signings if the situation drags on.
