The Zamalek Club’s Board of Directors, led by Hussein Labib, has released an official statement addressing the unofficial and unlawful exploitation of the club’s brand, a matter of concern that has prompted the issuance of a significant directive.
The Zamalek Club’s statement reads as follows:
“The Zamalek Sports Club declares itself the sole owner of the name and logos of the club, recognized as registered trademarks according to the law.
Any transaction or utilization of these trademarks without explicit prior written consent from the club is subject to severe penalties, including imprisonment and fines, in accordance with the provisions of Articles (113) and subsequent ones of Law No. (82) of the year 2002.”
Notably, the club has observed instances where certain sports academies bear the name or logo of Zamalek Club without proper authorization, either due to a lack of prior approval or the expiration of a previous contract.
Considering these practices as criminal offenses punishable by law, the club issues the following announcements:
Firstly, the club explicitly states that it does not possess any football academies outside the club, whether within or outside Egypt.
There are no licensed academies authorized to use the name or logo of the club within or outside Egypt, except for one academy in the (Al-Buhaira) Governorate, whose contract is set to conclude on June 30, 2024.
Periodic and permanent announcements will be made regarding licensed academies.
Secondly, the club is committed to taking all necessary legal measures to address any unauthorized use or exploitation of the club’s name or logo in the field of football academies or any other domain.
The club emphasizes its dedication to protecting its brand integrity and will vigorously pursue legal actions against any infringement.
This statement serves as a strong indication of the Zamalek Club’s determination to safeguard its brand and uphold the principles of fair and legal use, ensuring that the club’s image remains untarnished by unauthorized affiliations or exploitations.
