Yvan Neyou, the Cameroonian midfielder, has expressed his deep satisfaction with his current club, Club Deportivo Leganés, dismissing speculation about his future and emphasizing his contentment with life at the Spanish team.

Having joined Leganés as a free agent last summer after the expiration of his contract with French club Saint-Étienne, Neyou has seamlessly integrated into the Spanish outfit.

His affinity with Leganés was further solidified after spending a successful loan spell at the club during the 2022/2023 season, where he made 21 appearances in Liga 2 and provided an assist.

In an interview with Onze Mondiale, Neyou spoke glowingly about his experience at Leganés, highlighting the warmth of reception and the conducive football environment, contrasting it favorably with his previous experiences in France.

“Personally, I am as fulfilled as possible. The way people treat me, the way I am received, the environment a little less stressful than in France. It’s a football that speaks to me a little more.

I am comfortable in my quiet house, no one bothers me. There is everything to be peaceful. It’s a balance that I was able to find to enjoy football to the fullest,” Neyou revealed.

Since his return to Spain, Neyou has become a key figure at Leganés, earning a regular spot in the starting lineup and contributing significantly to the team’s pursuit of promotion to La Liga.

He reflected on his role within the squad, acknowledging his defensive responsibilities while expressing a desire to contribute more offensively.

While Neyou has only scored one goal this season in 31 appearances for Leganés, he remains focused on his defensive duties, emphasizing the importance of his role within the team’s tactical setup.

As speculation swirls about Neyou’s future, the midfielder remains steadfast in his commitment to Leganés, prioritizing his current contentment over uncertainty about what lies ahead.
