Patrick Mevoungou weighs in on Youssoufa Moukoko controversy

The Managing Director of Borussia Dortmund, Carsten Cramer, has reacted to Cameroonian forward Youssoufa Moukoko’s departure from the club.

According to him, the player’s departure made him very sad.

Moukoko, who enjoyed a record-breaking rise at the youth level with the Black and Yellows, struggled to cement a permanent place in the senior team. Following an underwhelming loan spell at OGC Nice, the 20-year-old striker completed a move to Danish champions FC Copenhagen this summer.

Speaking to Danish outlet bold.dk, Cramer opened up about his emotions surrounding the transfer.

“I like him immensely and was very sad when he left us,” he said.

Despite his disappointment, Cramer admitted the decision was a necessary one.

“In a situation like this, you have to realise at some point that it’s no longer working. That’s how it is in football and in sport in general.”

Moukoko will soon reunite with his former club on the big stage when FC Copenhagen face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on October 21.
