Youssef Msakni Set to Return to Tunisia on Loan from Lekhwiya SC
After a year and a half with Qatari side Lekhwiya SC, Tunisian international Youssef Msakni is reportedly on the verge of returning to his former club, Espérance Sportive de Tunis (EST), on a one-year loan.
The move comes amid unresolved issues with Lekhwiya regarding the payment of Msakni’s transfer fee. Despite recently celebrating a Qatari league title with Lekhwiya, the 25-year-old is expected to rejoin EST as he recovers from surgery.
Currently receiving treatment in Tunis, Msakni’s injury has already ruled him out of Tunisia’s recent friendly against South Korea and will also sideline him for the upcoming June international fixture against Belgium.
Msakni’s potential return to EST will be closely watched by Tunisian fans eager to see their star player regain full fitness ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
