Youssef Chippo has shown his support for former Morocco team-mate Mustapha Hadji after Hadji criticised Sofyan Amrabat over his dispute with national team manager Mohamed Wahbi.
Hadji made his comments in an extended interview with Kooora after Amrabat, the Ajax player, said he would not play for Morocco while Wahbi remained in charge.
“Amrabat plays for the Moroccan national team, which represents the country and raises its flag. He does not play for Mohamed Wahbi, so he must play under any manager,” Hadji said.
He then delivered a strongly worded message to the midfielder.
“Who are you to say that? You are not above the national team, the manager or the Moroccan flag. You must come to the national team and play without saying a word, even if you only play for one minute, because it is an honour for you,” Hadji added.
Chippo reacted to a video of Hadji’s comments posted by Kooora on Instagram. He did not write a message, but used laughing-face emojis before adding a heart to indicate his support for what Hadji had said.
Morocco are listed to face Niger in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on 13 November 2026.
Hadji also discussed other international football issues during his two-part interview with Kooora, including the circumstances in which Senegal could become champions of Africa and what he described as a fundamental difference between Wahbi and former Morocco manager Walid Regragui.
The former Morocco international also compared Egypt forward Mohamed Salah with Egypt manager Hossam Hassan, saying Salah was the greater figure, and said Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou had surpassed Essam El Hadary.
