USMNT midfielder of Ghanaian descent, Yunus Musah, is set to start for AC Milan on Saturday when they take on Empoli in Serie A.
Musah is expected to feature on the right wing, continuing his role for the Rossoneri in their ongoing 2024-25 campaign.
Despite Tammy Abraham’s impressive performance in Milan’s recent 3-0 victory over Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League, where he scored a goal and provided an assist, coach Paulo Fonseca is likely to drop the English striker from the starting lineup for this weekend’s match. Instead, Musah is poised for another opportunity to showcase his skills on the field.
The match will take place at San Siro in Milan, as part of Serie A’s 14th round of fixtures.
According to pre-match reports, Musah’s position on the right wing will be more fluid, serving as an ‘extra’ midfielder when Milan has possession, while still maintaining his presence out wide during defensive phases.
Musah will likely be joined by fellow USMNT player Christian Pulisic and Portuguese winger Rafael Leao in the attacking line, behind centre-forward Alvaro Morata.
The midfield will feature Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana in Fonseca’s usual double pivot.
