Bayern Munich have begun the rehabilitation process for teenage midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye, as the newly signed Senegalese prospect takes his first steps towards full integration at the German champions.

The 18-year-old, who joined the Bavarian club during the January transfer window, is currently working under the supervision of fitness coach Benjamin Sommer.

The focus is on his physical recovery, with the aim of preparing him to rejoin collective training in the coming weeks. Club sources indicate that, if his progress continues as planned, involvement with the first team during the second half of the season is being considered.

According to Sky Sport, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany played a key role in backing Ndiaye’s arrival. The Belgian has reportedly been closely involved in discussions surrounding the young midfielder’s development, underlining the club’s belief in his long-term potential.

Ndiaye’s pathway to Munich reflects Bayern’s growing investment in youth recruitment beyond Europe. He began his football education at Gambinos Stars Africa, an academy based in The Gambia that focuses on identifying and nurturing young talent from across the region.

In 2023, the academy became a partner of Red&Gold Football, a joint initiative involving Bayern Munich and Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC, designed to create clearer pathways for African players to elite clubs.

The midfielder continued his progression in 2025 with a successful trial at Swiss club Grasshopper Zurich, which helped raise his profile on the European stage.

That experience proved decisive, paving the way for his move to Germany in January 2026. Ndiaye joined Bayern Munich on loan until the end of the 2025–26 season, marking the biggest step of his career so far.

At Bayern, the emphasis remains on patience and structured development. The club is keen to ensure Ndiaye adapts both physically and tactically to the demands of top-level European football before any competitive appearances are made.

His rehabilitation phase is viewed as an important part of that process, allowing him to settle into his new environment while building the foundations for future involvement.

For Ndiaye, the coming months represent a crucial period. Training alongside one of Europe’s most decorated clubs offers a rare opportunity to accelerate his development, as Bayern assess how and when the young midfielder might make the next leap forward.
