Young Cameroonian duo Alfred Abraham Awaye and Emmanuel Brandon Mbe begin trial with Turkish side Samsunspor
Two promising young Cameroonian talents, Alfred Abraham Awaye and Emmanuel Brandon Mbe, have arrived in Turkey for an extended trial with top-flight club Samsunspor.
The pair, both products of AS Nylon’s youth academy, are seeking to impress and secure their first professional contracts in Europe.
According to information from L’Equipe237, Awaye, an 18-year-old central defender, and Mbe, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder, will undergo a three-month assessment period with the Turkish outfit.
Their move has been facilitated by football agent Eric Depolo, who oversees their representation.
The trial marks an important step in the careers of the two young players, both viewed as bright prospects within Cameroon’s domestic football scene.
AS Nylon, based in Douala, has developed a reputation for nurturing raw talent, and the club’s latest exports now have an opportunity to prove themselves in one of Europe’s increasingly competitive leagues.
For Samsunspor, who continue to strengthen their ranks with an eye on future development, the arrival of the Cameroonian duo aligns with the club’s strategy of scouting emerging players from across Africa.
Turkish football has, in recent years, become an attractive destination for young African players seeking exposure, professional structure, and a springboard to the larger European stage.
Awaye, known for his composure in defensive duels and ability to read the game, has been a standout figure at youth level.
His physical presence and discipline make him a promising defensive prospect.
Mbe, on the other hand, is a creative playmaker with a flair for unlocking defences and a keen eye for goal — traits that have made him one of AS Nylon’s most admired academy graduates.
Their trial period will include integration with Samsunspor’s reserve and senior training sessions, allowing the technical staff to evaluate their adaptation to European football.
Should they impress during this three-month spell, the club could move forward with permanent signings.
The journey from Douala to Samsun represents a significant milestone for the two young players, both driven by the dream of representing Cameroon on the international stage one day.
While the trial presents challenges — from the cultural adjustment to the demands of Turkish football — it also offers a rare opportunity to transition from local promise to professional recognition.
For now, the eyes of AS Nylon and Cameroonian football enthusiasts will be firmly fixed on Samsun, where two of their own begin an important chapter in pursuit of a European breakthrough.
