Young Africans face Namungo FC without injured goalkeeper Djigui Diarra
Young Africans SC will take on Namungo FC on Saturday, November 30, in a Tanzanian Premier League clash without their first-choice goalkeeper Djigui Diarra. The Malian international remains sidelined due to an injury, compounding selection challenges for the league contenders.
Diarra, who also missed the previous match against Coastal Union, has been ruled out of the fixture due to ongoing physical issues.
In his absence, Khomeini Aboubakari will step in as goalkeeper when the two sides meet at Majaliwa Stadium, with the match scheduled to kick off at 15:30 GMT.
Absences Extend Beyond Diarra
The Young Africans will also be without several other key players, adding to the pressure ahead of the encounter.
Khalid Aucho (Uganda), Clément Mzize, and Ibrahim Bacca (Tanzania), along with Chadrack Boka (DR Congo), are all unavailable for selection.
This string of absences could make a challenging match even tougher for the team.
Expert Warnings
Former Yanga SC and Taifa Stars player Adolph Richard has cautioned that this will not be an easy game for Young Africans.
“Yanga are going to play a tough game,” he remarked, emphasizing the challenge posed by Namungo FC.
Kenneth Mkapa, a former captain of Yanga SC, echoed similar concerns, warning of potential repercussions for the team should they falter.
“A defeat today could have serious consequences for the team,” Mkapa stated.
High Stakes for Both Sides
Despite the challenges, Young Africans remain a strong force in the league, currently sitting third in the standings with 24 points from 10 matches.
However, the pressure is on to secure a win and keep pace with the league leaders.
For Namungo FC, the stakes are equally high, as the team struggles to escape the relegation zone.
Positioned 13th with only nine points, they are desperate to turn their fortunes around and climb the standings.
The clash promises to be a fiercely contested battle, with both teams needing a positive result to achieve their respective objectives.
While Yanga SC must navigate the game without several key players, their ability to adapt and rise to the challenge will determine whether they can maintain their strong league position.
