Yassine Jassim opens up on first experience after breakthrough Morocco call-up
Moroccan rising star Yassine Jassim has opened up on his emotional first experience with the national team, describing it as a “dream come true” while highlighting the key role played by senior figures such as Achraf Hakimi in helping him settle.
Speaking after RC Strasbourg Alsace’s impressive 3-1 victory over OGC Nice in Ligue 1, Jassim reflected on a milestone moment in his career—his first call-up to the Moroccan national team.
“It was a dream come true,” Jassim said. “The players gave me a fantastic welcome, like Achraf Hakimi. Honestly, they are players we’ve always dreamed of playing alongside, so it was an amazing start.”
The youngster revealed that the positive atmosphere within the Atlas Lions squad made his integration seamless, allowing him to quickly feel at home among some of Africa’s biggest stars.
“I didn’t want to wake up from this dream because we were playing, training, and living with people of a very high caliber,” he added. “Now, we must maintain our place within the group and continue working hard.”
Back at club level, Jassim continues to grow in confidence with Strasbourg, where he emphasized that unity and collective effort remain the foundation of the team’s success.
“We are one group, we work together, and we don’t think about taking anyone’s place. We can rely on each other, and that’s what makes us strong,” he explained.
On his personal performance against Nice, the Moroccan youngster underlined his simple philosophy—play freely and enjoy the game.
“I try to play my usual way, enjoy myself, and feel comfortable. We started the match well, and we always strive to enter matches in the best possible way,” he said.
The victory also saw Strasbourg’s third goal netted by his club and international teammate Samir Mrabet, capping off a memorable outing for the Moroccan contingent.
With his confidence soaring and his international dream now a reality, Yassine Jassim appears poised to become one of Morocco’s exciting new faces on both domestic and international stages.
